COLLEGE GREENLIGHT SCHOLARSHIP MARATHON

Hello There!

JUNIORS AND SENIORS:  Join us for the Greenlight to College Marathon, Saturday February 25th. Comer 108 from 8:30--noon.  If you have an internet connection you can also work from 1:00-5:00 for more opportunities to win.

During this FREE, online event you can enter a raffle to earn a chance to win up to $100 every hour and qualify for a $1,000 scholarship.

You must upload evidence of the following to enter the raffles:

• Completed scholarship application(s)
• Selfie at college campus visit or college fair
• College list on College Greenlight
• Greenlight Scholars college application

COLLEGE VISITS

In order to make the best decision you can for college, you need to VISIT the campus.  Here are two postsecondary trips that Mr. Barnes has scheduled. 

The first is Saturday, February 25th to the University of South Alabama in Mobile.  The van will leave at 4:15 a.m. and will return at 8:00 p.m.

The second is Saturday, March 18th to the University of North Alabama.  The van will leave at 5:45 a.m. and will return at 5:00 p.m.

FEBRUARY "DO SOMETHING" SCHOLARSHIPS

Up until now, many of the scholarship applications have had one common thing--ESSAYS!

Guess what?  Here is a link to some February "Do Something" Scholarships that focus on helping others...and many of them just require that you DO SOMETHING, such as design a card. Look through the list and give some of them a shot!  There's lots more scholarship money out there.  Get busy and earn some $$$ for college.

SENIOR SUCCESS SEMINAR FEBRUARY 2, 2017

Please check your Google Drive for the following:

1)                All scans of your letters of acceptance and scholarships

2)                SAR (PDF version)

3)                At least 1 senior picture

4)                Updated résumé

5)                Complete ILP (If you didn’t do it in January) Blank copy in drive—Rename it and fill it out

6)                Complete SENIOR UPDATE Blank copy in drive—Rename it, fill it out, and make sure it is in YOUR DRIVE FOLDER.

      Senior Portfolio Prize ($100) for most organized, detailed Senior  Portfolio (due April 17)
