Dr. Earl Cunningham Scholarships 2017
This year, Dr. Earl Cunningham has
generously set up THREE $1,000 scholarships for TRIO Upward Bound students. Select ONE scholarship and complete the essay
and required information. All final
documents should be attached in WORD documents in an email on or before March
10 to buffmj@montevallo.edu ATTN:
Earl Cunningham Scholarships.
Dr.
Earl Cunningham Scholarship—Honoring Leadership and Service
Essay must depict the importance of community
involvement, leadership and service, as well as details of how you will use
your education to give back to the community.
Homer
Richardson Memorial Scholarship—Honoring Academic Excellence
Essay must emphasize the importance your academic
excellence, explaining what area of education you plan to pursue in college and
your career.
Coretta
T. Williams Memorial Scholarship—Honoring College Attendance and Completion Goals
Essay must emphasize the importance of pursuing a
college education, completing your college degree, and pursuing a career in a
chosen field.
Guidelines

1. Must have an acceptance letter to either a 2 year or 4 year college or university.2. Must provide a cover letter with the following:a. Name of specific scholarship for which you are applying (listed above).b. Full Namec. Addressd. Phone Numbere. Emailf. GPA and ACT scoreg. High Schoolh. SENIOR SUCCESS SEMINAR JANUARY 10, 2017

SMILE…SENIOR CLASS PICTURE TONIGHT!
1) Make sure all scans of your letters of acceptance and scholarship offers are in your Google Drive.
2) Make sure the SAR is in your Google Drive
3) Put at least 1 senior picture in your Google Drive.
4) Complete ILP (Blank copy in drive—Rename it and fill it out)
5) Update your résumé in your Google Drive.
6) Work on scholarships

NEVER QUIT
You're worn out, tired, and perhaps just a little sick this time of year. Stay with it! There's just three weeks left of the semester and it is CRUCIAL that you stay strong through the end of the semester. Your semester GPA will be what shows up on all the scholarships due next semester, so push through and make sure you do your best!

If you need a transcript of your grades sent to a
school, EMAIL me the name of the school. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE APPLIED to the
school before I send a transcript.
By DECEMBER, you
should have narrowed your college choices to 2.
Check your Google Drive and make sure you have

- Transcript (PDF Spring 2016); I will update it with the Fall 2016 transcript when it comes available in January.
- Highest ACT Score (PDF)
- FAFSA SAR (PDF) (Ask for assistance if you need to get this saved)

- PDF Scan of Taxes (if you are applying for Dell, Linly Heflin, or College Counts)
AAEOPP PreCollege and Survivor Scholarships —(MERIT-BASED

Dell awards 300
scholarships annually and since 2004, have provided students with over $60
million in college scholarships and support services. The Dell Scholars Program
places greater emphasis on a student’s determination to succeed than just
academic record and test scores. The GPA requirement is GRIT, POTENTIAL, and AMBITION. Dell rewards low-income,
highly motivated students who are better than their numbers indicate and
demonstrate the drive to succeed despite personal obstacles.

accredited higher education institution in the fall directly after your
graduation from high school
